He pulls the giant corpse through the forest towards his village as the blood stains the grassy fields. He drags it over to the nearby homes. <center><img src="Assets/Moose.jpg"></center> [[Welcome to GuWell.]] <script> var audio = document.createElement('audio'); audio.src="Assets/250191__hyperionn__elk-7.wav"; audio.loop = true; audio.play(); </script>Without a second of thought, Grill pulls the bow back and launches a rock and wounds a tree instead. But the moose stands still, munching on the wheat. Grill searches its skin and discovers its hip has been eaten from something bigger than itself. The only thing to do now is put it out of its misery. He loads an arrow back and fires into the moose's side. It tumbles into the meddow's wheat with peace. With his kill, he drags the corpse through the forest, leaving a trail of blood behind in the snow and heads to the village. <center><img src="Assets/Moose.jpg"></center> [[Welcome to GuWell.]] <script> var audio = document.createElement('audio'); audio.src="Assets/250191__hyperionn__elk-7.wav"; audio.loop = true; audio.play(); </script>Known for its rushing water, GuWell is the village for the perfect mountain homestead. "Nice kill ya got there," Marty says. "Thanks, Marty." He lays the moose on the porch of the village and enters the tavern. He confronts Tanor, his boss, and speaks to him about the moose out front. But Tanor doesn't seem too thrilled like he usually is. "We have a problem," Tanor says. "A monster, Juko, has leaked its poison into our water supply. The river is contaminated with ink. We can't serve our guest nor survive in this village with Juko's presence. Only a talented hunter can stop it. I have a job for you." "What is it, sir?" "There's only one way to end this beast. Grill knows he needs something exciting in his life again. It's been on repeat ever since the Dragon War, twenty years back. He's been working for Tanor for too long now. He knows he can run his own upkeep. Tanor doesn't even hunt. Grill does all the dirty work, and he's been doing it for years. It's time to rise. This is his oppurtunity to take a leap of faith. [[Let's do it.]]Outside the hut, villagers coup around the square. Their eyes dazzle in the sunlight. "There are rumors that a monster lurks near," Olegy says, a father of two boys with a sick wife. "It's in the water over yonder," Marty says. "I saw it with my own eyes." "This can't be," the Reverend says. "How will we survive with a demon cursing our homestead?" Janet says, a single housewife down the street, always eavesdropping and gossiping around folks. "Your Lord and Savior will protect you," the Reverend says to her. "Who's going to save us from exposure?" Clarrice says, the girl Grill has had a crush on since they played in the water well together. "Why our best hunter of course," Tanor says, walking out with a hand patting on Grill's shoulder. "You're going to kill the monster?" Clarrice says. [[I'm going to save our home.]] [[Yes. I'm gonna put an end to Juko.]]Grill swims across the river, losing a couple of bows along the way. He's soaking wet and hopes it can dry out on his hike. The trail diverged at the bridge, but this shortcut kept him on the right-sided trail. Both directions lead to the same place, but storm clouds linger far out to the left as the sun shines on the right. [[Turn right.]] [[Turn left.]]A few miles isn't too long of a hike, quite easy for a hunter. Grill arrives at the bridge and crosses the rushing water. The trail diverges into two. Both directions look the same, curving into the trees and rock that lead to the top of the mountain. Storm clouds linger far out to the left as the sun shines on the right. [[Turn right.]] [[Turn left.]]A dense forest blankets the sun out. Grill moves forth in the forest, crunching the gravel from beneath his boots. A stick cracks out in the distance. He slides his hand down to his bow's grip. As he pulls it out with an arrow ready and loaded, a black bear sneaks out behind a pine. [[Shoot the bear.]] [[Wait it out.]]Grill heads to the left. The trail is open to the sky full of dark clouds. Squirrels hurry across the hills of rock and grass. A few trees pop up here and there. Suddenly, a crack of thunder begins the downpour of rain. [[Hide under rock.]] [[Hike in the rain.]]Shooting the bear aggitates it. It charges at Grill. He darts more arrows into the bear, crippling it before its teeth could slice through Grill's flesh. About a quarter of the way up Mount Killok, Grill gasps for water. His throat is dry from the current journey. He needs to find a source of water. [[Spile a tree.]] [[Eat snow.]]The bear senses Grill's presence but isn't disturbed from his patience. It runs out into the forest and disappears. About a quarter of the way up Mount Killok, Grill gasps for water. His throat is dry from the current journey. He needs to find a source of water. [[Spile a tree.]] [[Eat snow.]] With a packed spile, Grill pounds it into a tree and drinks the trickle of water. He takes the spile back and continues up the mountain. Grill is halfway up and encounters the trail skinnying up. There's a very narrow passage between to converging rock walls. The ground widens with dark, hollow holes on the sides of the cracked path. The rock has been eroding for years. [[Crawl through.]] [[Rock climb.]]Grill eats a handful of snow from a pile in the forest. The snow isn't settling with him like he needs it to, but it'll do for the time. Grill is halfway up and encounters the trail skinnying up. There's a very narrow passage between to converging rock walls. The ground widens with dark, hollow holes on the sides of the cracked path. The rock has been eroding for years. [[Crawl through.]] [[Rock climb.]]Grill crawls into the corridor, placing his hand beside the path's cliff. Parts of the path crumble off and echo through the hollow chambers. A moment terrifies him as his shoulders squeeze into a stuck position between the rock walls, but he manages to twist to the side and sneak past. When he makes it out, he discovers a few of his bows fell down into the chambers. Finally, at the top of Mount Killok, the scroll awaits upon a stone inside of a small cave. He slings the scroll and its tube around his chest and walks outside. The mountain shakes into an uproar. Taking the scroll set the trap for a mountain quake. The river is visible down below, starting at the pond of water. [[Slide down the snow.]] [[Walk down the rock.]]Carefully, Grill crawls up the mountain side, hinging his hand around the breaks in the wall. The rocks hold on as he makes it to the top. He loses more arrows as he goes. The water drains him into the rushing river, pushing him down waterfalls and rapid waters, dodging fallen trees and rock as he drowns in the craziness. The river takes him back to the entrance of GuWell. A dark, spidery figure awakens ahead in the water. Juko. [[Cast the spell on the bow.]] [[Swim out.]]Grill climbs his way down the falling rocks. A rock takes his feet out, sending his head into the ground. He's unconcious. His body rolls down into the pond. The water drains him into the rushing river, pushing him down waterfalls and rapid waters, dodging fallen trees and rock as he drowns in the craziness. [[Cast the spell on the bow.]] [[Swim out.]]Grill casts the spell on his bow, but his carrier is out of arrows. He's lost too many along the path. A voice yells out from the side. "Toss me the arrow!" Taron says. Grill throws it to Taron as Juko untangles its tentacles and casts them towards him. Before Juko's ink poisons Grill, Taron takes a few shots with his own arrows. The spell impales itself from the arrow and down deep into Juko's veins. The squid is poisoned into a dead, rubber boat, docked in the shallow river. Grill stands in the back, listening to the applauds and the exploding mead bottles. While Taron takes the credit, Grill leaves the square, passing Clarrice who tries to halt him, and heads inside the tavern. He heads behind the bar, grabs a bottle of alcohol, and chucks it at the wall. Glass shatters everywhere with puddles drenching the floor. Grill is back to his life in the repetive shadows. A curse life can be.Grill keeps dry from the rain. He loses time as the sun starts to set, but at least he won't freeze from being soaked. As he marches up the mountain, lightning from the tail of the storm strikes Killok's peak. Snow rummages into a huge wave, cascading down towards Grill. [[Run.]] [[Or run.]]Grill hikes in the cold soaking rain. As he marches up the mountain, lightning from the storm strikes Killok's peak. Snow rummages into a huge wave, cascading down towards Grill. Juko floats in the water, quiet and limp. Grill stands in the chilled water, looking up to the sky with peace and relief. [[Return to the village with a chunk of Juko.]] [[Tell Taron.]]Grill climbs out of the water. Juke wraps a tentacle around Grill's neck and strangles him. Quickly, Grill casts the spell on his bow from the scroll. He whips out an arrow, darting it at Juko's flubber. As he faints in the neck lock, the spell posions Juko to a deep sleep. Juko floats in the water, quiet and limp. Grill sits beside Juko's body, his head limped to the side. [[Wake up from trauma.]]With a victorious, bloody gunk in his hand, the village surrounds Grill in applauds, music, and bottles of mead. Taron exits the tavern and joins the crowd. He meets eye contact with Grill and gives a thumbs up. Grill celebrates with the village to end the victorious night. But later on, it doesn't seem as if Taron is too thrilled over his victory. "I've been trying to climb Mount Killok for years," Taron says. "How is it that a poor man like you can make it to the top." "It's simple," says Grill. "I'm a hunter." Clarrice grabs Grill's hand and rises it in the air for him. The crowd roars for the two victorious lovebirds. With all of Grill's hardwork, Taron turns against him. He explains how the village was so happy. They were all applauding and cheering for the defeat of the squid monster. As he lies in bed at the medic tavern, Taron leaves him to rest. But Grill cannot, espcieally when he reads the nearby Newscroll, written upon Taron's heroic act of saving the village. Before he rips his soul out from bed, Clarrice enters. She sits beside him, holds his hand in hers, turning Grill softer than the feathers he lies on.Grill loads fifteen arrows in his carrier. Grill places his hand on a trunk's bark, peeking around its natural curvature. The weather is nice and warm on the flats, but the surrounding mountains sure bring a chill at night. The sun's high up in the sky though, and the pines trap the heat in for a nice, natural sauna. Around the crust of a tree stands a moose in the wheat meadow.
